People lose track of the fact that shit is supposed to be fun. Playing a 60 pop box where shit aint so hardcore that you gotta wake up at 3AM to do shit is more enjoyable to me right now.

On RoZ if you log in before January 1st you can get free level 50s and join the fun. Population has been rising slow but steady the last 2-3 weeks and last night there were 70+ characters online. Guilds there are like 5-10 real people 2-boxing and there are 5-6 legit crews there now. Dentists aren't roflstomping people and letting the other crews catch up.

There are literally always raid targets up and left up by the bigger guilds once they don't need them. People are generous with gear and cordial for the most part in PVP and stuff. Most of the "pain in the ass" shit is taken out allowing you to focus on the fun stuff. A lot of the quality of life additions that were made later on are left in (shared bank, keyrings, etc).

I suggest people give it a go and see if they like it. If you don't, it's not like you wasted a bunch of time leveling up or anything. You can have a 2 level 50s two boxing literally 5 minutes from now if you want, and be 60 within 2-3 days of casual play. I would highly suggest people roll a monk+healer as their first pair, monk PVE damage is cranked up real high and you'll level very fast.

So is there anything I can do with all the characters I have that are 50 with no skills or would it be better to just trash them and start new characters since they now provide skill ups with the instant 50?

Can you still get jboots/manastone with the new chars you create?

You don't get the jboots/manastone but they both got added as PVP rewards in the same patch. I wouldn't trash them, skills are a pita but basically level once to train the skills with 0 and macro the shit up. I got my shaman spell skills all to 100+ in a hour or so of macroing on my second machine while I played a character on my other machine.

Eh no wonder you want more people to join. Want people to test out that raid gear on. Would be a shame for it to go unused.

I am gonna start playing again and was trying to decide what server to play. Think I will stick to red99 for now. I don't think I have thick enough skin to PvE all over again starting with 0 skills while having people with end game velious gear follow me around with maps. Maybe if I had more time to invest.

I have like 2 pieces of raid gear. They are geared, no doubt. But it's not like we go out and spend 8 hrs a night slaughtering people. The guild is literally 6 people. Tons of raid mobs are up all the time that would put people on the same level for the most part, and Kringe has offered to assist any guild that asks for it with helping kill a bunch of bosses for the first time to learn the strategies, what mobs to charm and use to tank, etc.

95% of the people that play there have no issues with Dentists at all, and then there is a very vocal 5% that won't shut the fuck up about it.

Like I said though, Meow Pals and Radium have crews twice as big and are killing raid targets all the time. Valor and Rolling With My Gnomies are up and coming too and have members. Population on these boxes typically spikes the first 1-2 weeks then falls off the map, but right now it's been a sustained 50+ for multiple weeks and has actually gone from low 50s at peak to high mid to high 60s.

Patches happen 2-3 times a week squashing bugs and adding shit. It's not classic nor does it pretend to be. But it is fun. I was having fun even before I joined Dentists with a 60 necro/druid unguilded doing my own thing and PVPing.

Come try it, get your free 50s and box yourself up to 60 and join a crew. Or try it and hate it and never come back, w/e. It's the best place to PVP in Velious in all of EQ emu though, so there is that.
