I remember being a dark elf paladin on a mount and I figured for me that was pretty much beating the game so I went to WoW because it actually had PvP servers.

betrayal is inconvenient because in order to betray you have to become exile, then do fation for the opposite side. It involves being ganked alot ( because alot of people will camp the betrayal quest givers) . So since the best pvp class probably is gonna be on q side (swash, pally possibly) most will roll there to avoid having to betray.

also its for some erason more popular to be on Q side. no idea why.

if i said swash is shit I am retarded. Its definitly one of the top 3 best classes in pvp. Pally not so much, but since the class has changed alot fundamentally since launch, it could be alot better than it used to be.

In reality there isnt a best class to play. Only a class that performs better in pvp with ease, which people with less experience tend to flock to because its easy pvp success. Any good player can be successful in pvp with the class they like if they learn it.

paladins have viable group heals and good stuns for pvp, swash is great dps

all eq2 classes are viable its designed that way

it does sound like everything has a counter and is better balanced than eq1

... from reading discussions

which sounds promising

I find it hard to believe so many of you haven't played eq2 its great up till the odus expansion imo

might be a nice change since velious isn't coming for a while, even when it does it will just be people fighting over loot like its never going to drop again.

loot makes people nuts

I have been reading up on it and it does seem like every class bitches about something, which usually points towards some balance.

One thing I have seen consistently is that shaman healers aren't ideal because of cast times and other classes having enough CC to shut them down with those longer cast times.

Another is that the bards have a pretty tough time but I think I'm still going to give them a shot.

Bards really don't come into their own until Echoes of Faydwer.

Swashbucklers are prob #1 til Ruins of Kunark which they fall off a bit but are still great. They'll be absolute monsters in Kingdom of Sky and Echoes.

i think brig will beat most classes along with assasin after the first expansion. all the debuffs, dispel and double up is hard to compete with in pvp.

bards are gonna be OP for anyone who knows how to use one. The only thing bard lacks that concerns me at launch is jesters cap. the rest is whatever.
