Although i do agree its gone a bit stupid about not being able to laugh at stupid sounding people, like the rednecks from America. Londoners and the Belgians. About the only accents that are classy sounding is the Aussie Bogan and the native Antarctican. The rest should be fair game.

Disclaimer there was a show called something like redneck scientists. I simultaneously laughed and was in awe of that shit they pulled off.

No not at all. I don't even think about it in terms of punching up or down, I reject that whole notion. You should punch who deserves to be punched. People in wheelchairs or whatever can still be assholes.
