EQ is designed to create drama and conflict between players. For some players, that is the part of the game that they find most enjoyable.

Looking for respect from those players is a lost cause.

One viewpoint is that a guild member showed a lack of respect during a guild event, and was insufficiently punished. Another viewpoint is that a guild member applied the golden rule in defending a friend and guild mate from an aggressor attacking in jest. Either way, the drama caused outweighs the seriousness of the crime and placed an additional burden on the limited attention of the raid leadership.

Not going to defend Retti's blunt way with words. However, he was willing to group up and share my hybrid exp burden back when there was no exp bonus which meant a lot to me at the time.

During Velious, you went harder than most and were among the most hardcore of the hardcore. It was supposed to be the 10th ring quest and not the quest for 10 rings.

My recommendation would to detox for a few weeks. Ease back into EQ slowly on a more casual level and rediscover what you enjoy about the game.

Just to recap and be clear, since OP is full of misinformation and emotion:

1. Cyren was an aggressor
2. Mornin was defending Gyno from Cyren
3. I assisted Mornin in defending Gyno
4. I got a killing blow on Cyren
5. Cyren couldn't handle the death and flipped out, banning from ts, and guild removing
6. So, I killed him agian when he rezzed in (1 shot twisted bastard steel)
7. He called for entire guild to kill me
8. Threatened to use his position in loot council to "grief" me over the 30 second PvP that happened while we were sitting at a zone in
9. Next day tried to invoke his ability to loot council "grief" and was denied
10. Ragequit the box to hide in Gongshow's ts
11. Started telling his sob story to who ever would listen
12. Wrote the OP after getting the Everquest Itch to play again

This lack of respect that Cyren seems to think he deserves is a joke. It was some auto attacking and spell casting at the zone in of ToV waiting for rest of guild to mobilize. He didn't have any problem tashing stripping debuffing and mezzing guild members, but the minute he got touched he started to cry about being a buff class/officer/loot council and how he was off limits. Cry me a river.

And lol'd at 10th ring, not 10 rings. G1 GT.

Damn, this is some wicked shit.... I know exactly how you feel. I had the some similar feelings in empire. Didn't feel supported. I left. Now playing on red again. Time heals all. U were da man Cyren. u remember myopic? I'm sure u do ; ) wanted to come in and give u a shout out.

Don't let those who annoyed you the most get to you. They clearly have no idea what it's like to be an officer of a legit guild, having to deal with people's random bull shit day in and day out. Kudos to you for being able to hang a single week... ur attitude was inspiring to say the least. my time in empire was a lot more enjoyable with you there. Who else woulda called all those queers the queers they really are?!?

real talk for forum readers.... imagine if valtiel, sassa, gream, retti, titanuk, mornin, dbodhi, hona, and fandango, ALL in your teamspeak, multiple nights a week, with 30 extra noobs all using speakers and open-mic settings.... how would you not want to commit suicide after 2 days?

All the shit posting from burt trying to discredit cyren is quite hilarious. But no one really cares what burt has to say so hes just wasting his time. I think the punishments are quite non existent to fairly just in most cases with toxic people in empire and the instance with retti was just really ill handled. I remember when we was on beta and we killed vindi for the first time and Incog just looted the BP without asking (not that it really mattered) and instead of apologizing he just go's "waaaaaaaa booohooo burt" then gongshow banned him from TS for a hour or 30 mins. I'm just citing a good example of the officers disciplining members. It happens and very rarely. I personally wished they was more strict on people being asshats at raids and even outside of raids. I don't really like wasting time beefing with people I'm guilded with, but if they did that there prob wouldn't be too many people left.
