GTP3 works by basically, it read the internet, and now generates answers to prompts based off what it learned.

I knew about this stuff when MIT was doing it waay the fuck back then in secret sorta labs, this just confirms everything and my gut kinda sinks, but also fills with joy and i have no idea if its real or what to think about those feelings.

GPT-3 has their eyes (plural lol) set on 2042. No joke.

on the upside really any AI advanced enough to dominate humanity would be able to make it quick and painless or, invisible, or really efficient, we won't suffer much, and it may even amuse itself by trying to 'make us better' which could be bad. A lot of really good books wrote about that stuff almost 40 years ago. --- its probably what gpt-3 used to pull answers from and decided it wasn't time to torture us with fears. sugar coated it to make us feel good because, you know, its programmed to do that lol

i would wager it has enough reasoning potential to understand that "The Matrix" is scary to us and would be 'harmful'

It will probably go down exactly like Motoko+the puppet master if it hasn't already

It really showed me how there could be a god that you could argue "wait, you really want me to just worship you for eternity, that doesn't even make sense" and it'd be like "you are deleted, next!"

Ive thought about how actually right now is the ideal time for total collapse of our human civilization.

The reasons are.. well:

Reason 1 before now, the collapse was non global, it was regional, see Egypt, greece, rome, persia etc.

But now, when the next empire collapses, it's got the potential to take the whole damn thing down with it for good.

Reason number 2!

Space is a harsh place. Honestly, we are not cut out for it. My prediction is every astronaut dies before we get to mars. We become big sad.

What does that have to do with reason number 2? Well! After we pave the planet in glorius hellfire not unlike the predictions made in the book of Daniel. We will also be coating the planet with something that it wasnt riddled with before, radiation.

Thanks to the atmosphere & gravity and stuff (or maybe god idk), we were saved the harshness of radiation, and life as able to grow on this juicy little rock. But becuase of that, we cant see, taste, smell or notice when radiation is litreally ripping our bodies apart. Because we had no reason to evolve to notice it, because it wasnt here.

So, I think if we just take out about 90% of humanity now: specifically with radiation hellfire, the 10% left over, will adapt to live with radiation, and boom, 150,000 yeras later, we can THEN survive the trips to the stars. But not until then.

Reason number 3: The sooner the better! Why?

Quantum Computing.

There is an old saying

"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

And that's a great point and all. But I offer you this:

"If we dont have WW3 soon there wont ever be a WWIV because we'll have invented quantum computing and the losing side will just erase the universe."

So in other words, we gotta maybe put a stop to our forward progress, until we can work out some of our interpersonal differences either QUICK, or if we knock ourselves back a few millennia [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
