I think that's an obvious problem with the modern democratic party, they don't know what to do, they don't have a really clear message. I don't have any data for this but I'd assume a significant portion of people that vote democrat only do so because republicans are so wildly against progressive policies like universal healthcare and education. And so they're sort of left with a waffley party they aren't very proud of.
I troll the feelings-based Dems a lot with the slavery and the dogs in Selma because I'm a troublemaker like that and that's a giant weak spot for them. But in the end I need a robust opposition that is reasonable.

If the Democrats just wither and die without a good replacement or at least a good re-branding and focus, then everyone suffers. Your ideas need challenge and your policies need opposition, not only to distill a compromise that appeals to a broad coalition, but also to forestall any creeping fascism. Like if I had to make a choice, I would go fascist before communist, but either of those outcomes are still terrible. And when your party isn't challenged properly and its ideas put to the test then a sense of continuous victory combined with the natural right-wing appeals to unity, strength, and tradition can result in some hilarious goose-stepping. Don't want that.

On the other hand if the Democrat party lurches even to the left, that's going to put a giant hole in the middle of the electorate and naturally the GOP will adjust its position toward a more centrist stance because extremism takes work and it's just easier to shift to the center than to hold the right-right. Like on that map you posted, Sanders looks very potent but remember the GOP will be aiming directly for the Klobuchar's, the O'Rourke's and the Buttigieg's of the world (also the minority poor people who don't contribute but do vote).

Remember that until maybe 5-6 years ago, the Democrat Party was dominated by the New Democrats for like 30 years. These people were all centrists with a moderate fiscal policy and a progressive social one. They are still a very potent force. I know this because they literally told Nancy Pelosi to her face yesterday that if anyone mentioned defunding the police again then the Democrats would get fucking torn apart so if she could just stop making gigantic unforced errors and shut the fuck up that would be swell. To which a shaken Pelosi said here is my phone number can we talk later and please don't call me names publicly.

Spanberger and the rest of the centrists are going to have a big decision to make and I think the '22 elections are going to crystalize that need.

Remember the Democrats have clearly conspired to fuck Sanders twice. Two times they took his nomination from him, and whether that's the truth to me or you it's certainly the truth to all his supporters. Do you think they will trust any olive branch from the center when it's just another knife in the back later? Do you think they will forget the way Sanders looked when he was publicly humiliated at the convention into visibly giving his support to the people who stole his shit?

That's going to make any centrist outreach program a hard to sell to the left-left. Maybe it will be easier to fracture, give the right a couple of elections, see what shakes out. Not better necessarily, but easier.

That is pragmatic.

Only Biden has a powder keg he is standing on.

Trump had working people, wall street, a stable party. Granted, a boat load of pissed off blues (elements were exposed which now belong to Biden as he represents them)

Trump had 4 years of wading through waist deep shit. I think Kamala will have it worse, if she listens. Edit: I imagine her Presidency will be Obama-Lite. Look for the first villages to get droned.
Trump lost Wall Street a couple years ago. Our firms abandoned him pretty quickly this year especially lol

I will concede that Team Red had less nay votes per capita, as that is a very important statistic for some reason.
We play the long game. We knew fifty six years ago how the optics would look (we knew about optics back then because the space program was going balls out at that time and we needed big telescopes to see the astronauts waving back at us).

Every couple of years I get a text from Mitch McConnell reminding me always keep a copy of the Civil Rights act in my pocket in case Google Maps sends me to a more diverse area by 'mistake'.

If Trump loses he's gonna buy OANN and work the propaganda machine that will make Facebook news look like a scientific journal and probably radicalize both sides of the spectrum

My accountant actually confirmed that in NYC, with all the deductions I’d get back under Biden’s plan, I will actually be taxed less (Trump taxes me more than Obama lol). So I can’t wait!

You literally just copied and pasted this message

As I told the last person, There were republicans who voted by mail too.
It was a few pages back but it was literally the same msg. Which makes me think people who lean blue are being brainwashed. Especially when they repeat the same lines verbatim. Make sure to tune into your favorite communist news network for more at 11.
Convenient that you ignored my point on Ohio. Typical Trump supporter double standard!

At any rate, this is all good news. Trump out and hopefully we can rebuild the Republican Party to be what it’s actually supposed to be and actually be a real Conservative party, not a big government religion-obsessed party masquerading as Republicans.
