Oh my gawd I am so excited. Is the server coming up tonight ? I might just call off my date with my hunky new boy toy if this is true.

There's only one word to describe this server and that is Faaaaabuuulooouuus.

I am dancing to madonna right now in preparation.
Gayer than cum on a mustache.

Inc another $25, thanks for the server! When it comes up, it comes up, lets do it right!

Regards,
Mg

PS Whats really amusing is we had a shitfest in a meeting yesterday because we ordered a mess of servers to use as data transfer appliances for healthcare data and someone said "Did we order rails? Whattaya mean NO?!?!?" LOL [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

LOL we have a guy who does stupid shit like that. Or he will find "rack mounting equipment" on the cheap somewhere and be like OMG guise I totally saved us 125$ on this 12 thousand dollar server (this happened before I worked there). So I am looking at this shit when I get there and they have this ghetto as fuck rack that is designed for mounting small telco equipment and only fits old school servers that are shorter than their newer versions... Like newer servers are actually deeper/longer than the rack. And they bought these awesome shelves, that don't even fit in this rack, to put servers on. So they have a bunch of servers sitting on shelves rather than rails.. Shelves that are only bolted in on the front of the rack and are just sitting on some pegs in the back... so they could get jostled and drop a server at any time lol...

Of course this is the same person I have to argue with about purchasing warranties... "OMG must we spend 500$ extra for 3 years?!" "Uhh you do realize that each hard drive in this server costs 800$ right?" "But...."

I guess IT people do need someone to keep them from spending 8 trillion on shiny things but srsly!! lol

It's kind of wierd rails are coming up a lot these days, the data centre we're putting the servers in have different rails than ours, some kind of reversable slide in/adjustable stuff.

Heh, $800/drive is nothing, I just got quoted $32/gb for new fibre channel SATA disk for our SAN [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

On a few occasions, when I was really bored, I charmed a kodiac in EC, buffed it to hell, broke charm with invis and then just sat around watching unsuspecting noobs get owned. Quite an evil thing to do, and I'm not particularly proud of it now, but it was rather entertaining at the time.

I see druids doing that all the time in Oasis with crocs. Usually a group member or two will drop dead before even realizing they're being hit by a DS.
