Repetition of rural home and church teachings enforce this ideology.

what benefits? A slightly lower tax rate? my income tax rate is less then 10% no big deal. and we live in a mostly rural county so property taxes aren't insane. Unfortunately, some portion of the federal part funds the military and the local ones the police, but i can't change that for the time being

if i flew a black and red flag most people around here wouldn't even know what the hell it was, and the ones that did might kill us or smash the windows. so we put an american flag up!

Amendments to the constitution are part of the constitution. The bill of rights were included such that states would ratify and join the Union, so yes, separation of church and state is unequivocally enshrined in the constitution by the founders at the time when the nation went from states loosely connected by the articles of confederation to a federal system with a central government
