Lol jeremy [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I'll cook for you some day I'll go visit Sloan. If you have a drum kit we could also jam a bit.

Btw we were unable to carry on this musical discussion. I'm listening to the last Darwin deez and I'm Disappointed, Last Foals record is decent but not as good as expected. What are you hooked up on lately ? Do you follow music blogs btw?

I generally only listen to stuff on personal recommendation. I don't like most things, especially new things. I know that makes me sound like an old man, but really I just prefer to let time and people do my sorting for me if I can - there is too much crap to sift through.

I don't care for lyrics really. I enjoy a good melody, but if I want to hear about a profound idea or whatever the hell I'll go read a damn book and not look towards some tacky song.

My two favorite albums have no words. Here is one of them if you're curious. The guitar solo starting a couple of minutes into the second track is my favorite of all time. I am into gratuitous hedonistic guitar rock with out-there tonality - fusion to a certain degree - but altogether just instrumental rock, whatever the flavor. At least as far as new (to me) stuff that I'm finding and enjoying.

Hellborg Lane & Sipe is a little too obscure for most people to confidently enjoy, so I can stick to the mainstream if you wish to have some input by which to characterize me. I think Ok Computer is probably the best album to come out in the last 30 years, and (not much) before that The Wall probably takes the cake.

Confirmed Hipster lol

Kid A sucks - it began an era of Radiohead that just wasn't as good. Hail to the Thief was alright but nothing holds a candle to 90s Radiohead.

Now if you'd said The Bends you might actually be onto something

I personally enjoy Radiohead prior to their switch aswell as after. I'd say thom yorke's voice was sublimed after their change towards deeper music. You must like reverb on vocals though [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I advice you Everything Everything / Foals / Yeasayer being my personal favourite. If you like new vintage stuff go for Pond or Tame Impala. Darwin deez first record is decent aswell.

Oh well and if you're a cool kid and like discovering the hotest stuff just go on www.hypem.com/foals87, I'm sure in all this stuff I blog you will find something you like Jeremy [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
