So EQ only bans for whatever line was reported, WoW pulls chat logs from anyone in the vicinity (Guild, Whispers, all of that content near the offending player) and takes a month to ban for "******"

i got suspended for 5 hours on PTR in wow for saying that the GM hosting the event we were testing was downs

I concede that point but it was taken into account every time a warning was issued or report was investigated.

Yea part of the reason I want to revamp our petition system is because we don't really have a good way of associating reports or previous disciplinaries to an account other than a forum post atm heh.

I have the interface shell created though, as part of the tools I was making to bring up information regarding accounts and logs.

Doesn't sound like a terribly demanding technical task?

New DB table stores player account ID / columns for data filled out in fields like date, action taken, copy/paste what was said in the report, comments etc. It's a little extra paper work for the GMs when they book someone.

I wouldn't try to tie this into being usable in game, too much effort for something simple.

Clearly you underestimate my OCD for clean, efficient integration of tools/utilities.

It will be integrated into the website though, not in game.
