Assuming people playing P99 are intelligent humans, then yes, I think grammar does influence how you are perceived, especially if you are trying to explain the mission of your guild to other people. What does it matter if we are talking about an MMO or nuclear physics, does playing video games mean appearing intelligent when trying to get a point across is unimportant?

One thing I have learned from 16 years of mmos is that people leave courtesy and rational thought behind when playing the game and using forums.

I disagree with that, I think its from a personal level. Plenty of people on these forums write rational and well written posts. I just think saying, oh im playing an MMO so it doesn't matter if my sentences are legible is a pretty poor excuse.
