Exactly. It may be tempting, and they may deserve it. But it usually just makes things worse in the long run. They grow to fear you then grow up to take that anger out on other people. Psychotically insane/depressed, hard core alcoholics/druggies, abuse (spouse/children of their own), even criminals etc.

she wasn't forced to do that job, she decided to do it. working with middle schoolers should give you a thick skin. if you're going to sob when someone calls you fat, then you shouldn't have chosen that job. personal responsibility matters.

Haha. Things must have really changed since I was in middle school. All teachers and employed staff from school had to be respected or we, as children, were punished for disrespect.

Yes, they have changed a ton. Working in the school system has to be some of the worse work out there now a days. You could not pay me enough money (and the pay is crap anyways) to deal with that mess.
