You see people doing that all the time. It was frustrating when hunting Hill Giants and later Sea Furies for experience (and the cash too) and a level 60 character would be holding down the spawn points and taking all the mobs. But they have every much as right to be there as you do.

Remind me, can you hunt the HHK guards at 29? Don't they drop FS weapons? I think the static gnolls in SK drop FS too, but there's more risk involved...

Today I logged on and moved to the sister tent in the Lfay, and found a level 29 mage camping it. I suspect that he was there for the money from the bronze weapons, but that seems like a dick move. There was another player that could actually benefit from experience sitting there waiting for him to leave, and he had pretty decent gear, and I'm sure there are hundreds of better cash spots for a lvl 29. All in all it seemed like a player was locking out other players from getting good cash and exp for our level, and I was just wondering if you guys share my opinion.
so you're annoyed at him for being at a camp before you were there?[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

He may have been camping that spot because it's safe for him while earning some plat. He could be at work and is hopping back to the game for the kills and loot only. I suspect this to be the case (or something similar). Yes, he can go elsewhere for XP and better loot but at an increase in effort and risk which he's probably not in a position to work at. I am sure that during normal play time he is off at other spots.

It's not a douche thing to do really but it does suck if someone at a level appropriate for the camp wants to do it. There are plenty of other places to go. Also, as mentioned, you could send a tell and ask him to let you know when he leaves and/or how long he'll be there for etc. He may or may not respond though so don't take it personally.

Norrath is a big place and you should seek out other camps if it's taken already.

Well, I don't know if the original question was a 'dick move' or not in game, but as you can tell, there's plenty of them to be had right here on the forum.

Suggesting he go to the red server if he doesn't like competition for camps seems like a pretty good one to me. Either that or get used to a lot of disappointment. People farming green mobs for loot isn't going to stop because it hurts his feelings.

Yes, moving to an empty server because the camp on his server is camped is a great idea. Any other schemes red turds can come up with to try and keep their server on life support?

Your server is going to get shutdown. Live with it.

My server is Al'Kabor and is doing just fine. I was camping some Rygorr Orcs in the shadow of the dragon bridge just a little while ago.

I was kiting mobs in PoFire there a couple years back. Al'Kabor is lame and population is worse than p99 when I played. I am sure with F2P more have joined but I would be suprised if they even had 500 people.

Population doesn't bother me at all. It is easy to find friendly groups and that server is a throwback to the golden age of EQ before the WOW influence ruined it. It will be my online home for a very very long time. It is right at the point where I cashed out of EQ the first time.
