LOCATION: West Baltimore & Fremont Street

On March 19, 2012 at approximately 9:30 AM, a robbery occurred at the corner of Baltimore & Fremont Street. According to victims she was standing at the bus stop when the suspect approached her and snatched her cell phone out of her hand. The victim stated that the suspect then ran south on Fremont Street off campus. No one was injured during this incident. The University Police are actively investigating this crime.

On Mar, 6, 2012 at approximately 6:00 p.m., the University of Maryland Police and the Baltimore Police Department responded to the Plaza Garage located at 500 West Redwood Street for a report of a shooting. Upon our arrival a male victim, suffering from a gunshot wound was located inside of the garage. The victim was transferred to the hospital for treatment.

The University of Maryland Police Force remains vigilant in its effort to keep the Campus and its surrounding community safe through the continued cooperation and intelligence sharing with the Baltimore Police Department. We have increased our patrols on Campus and in the garages.
