If you go monk, don't even attempt MR stacking and just go with +health and carry pumices. You won't even notice roots resists starting til 80+ MR or higher. I am 50 with 105 MR and I resist maybe 2/3s? High level gems are very difficult to come by currently.

Warrior could get a solid enough MR(130+ buffed) with reasonable gear to probably be a lot of fun in a group.

Anyhow, that is the kind of resist curve you will be looking at on here. You end up relying on active dispelling rather than passive resisting. I'm sure you are familiar with the ups and downs of melee PvP otherwise.

This just sounds awful tbh if resist gear isn't even worthwhile. Pumice stone meta. Pumice were reserved for dispelling magic DoTs in classic. EQ never needed cc landing because it's never going to be balanced + the PvP was always about using the environment to dodge or stick to people. It's not WoW. I would rather see ice comets land for full constantly than get tagged by 1.5 sec ensnare or immobilize.

Unfortunately the earth pet root is way harder to resist than regular root. At lower levels it's almost unbearable. With 77 MR you will resist regular roots a lot more often (this isn't to say I think resists are great right now, but MR does have noticeable effects at higher amounts).

I've already spammed it Searyx but it got ignored - it's pretty bush pvp TBH. Don't roll a pure melee, well a warrior can work if you have support since sitting on a rooted war is fail anyway.

Rogue/Monk out of the question unless u want to train/wait for kunark.

Well Seary, given that Xant is a monk this time, you might have to roll a warrior for a role reversal. Pro melees don't need spells.

With a Monk, magic resist:
Casual: 53 (jc bracers + neck, splitpaw mask)
High End: 124 (jacinth rings, tranix crown, shiverback gloves, rakusha cloak, bd earrings)
I'm pretty sure that's actually where they max out - 125'ish. And that's a very difficult 125 to obtain, where you are sacrificing hps / other resists.

Can anyone here who actually plays a 35+ Monk, Rogue, or Warrior comment?

As a 50 warrior I have 134 unbuffed(no resist rings). I still get rooted/snared/mezzed about 15-20% of the time (just my random guess).
