I can confirm the claims of OP.
I believe SZ had been out for about 6 weeks when I decided to give it a try. After a few nights of playing, I made my way to Blackburrow. When I zone in, I get rooted immediately and I am melee'd down by an ench with his epic. This enchanter was Nizzarr. Seems nothing has changed. Please help this man. | ||

Well IMHO anybody that was on SZ could use an intervention or two.
In fact, most of us on p1999 could be on Dr. Phil's show. ... And get our 15 minutes of fame. Me, I'm guilty of playing a lot of games. When I was younger I could play for long stretches, even up to 10 hours. But I didn't do that very often. Nowadays I can play off and on for a sum total of maybe 5-6 at best. I am doing too many other things. I can't sit down for more than an hour without feeling miserable and needing to get up. But I still use my computer too much. I could probably be on Dr. Phil, just a phone call away. It would be something like this ( Dr. Phil - Virtual Chaos ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnZ9NzLNAxQ EDIT: I can't imagine how a guy can play 6 hours-plus WITH a family. Is this for real? I just watched some of it. Most of the time I might play 3 hours or 4, in total. But 6 to 10? I'm not married. I don't have kids. I just cannot fathom how anyone could play a game that much and juggle those other things. So I'm suspicious. But I will say this. When I was on live I knew many people who DID have kids and were married. I even knew couples. There were a lot of military people. I saw them play anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, off and on. But it never seemed extreme to me. A lot of afking. Having a job is a big responsibility. Having a family is a big responsibility. Playing a game can even be a big responsibility - like if you're a raid or guild leader or you want to be the best at it. There's so much else one can do in life. There's only so much time. I know that it's possible to play 6 hours when you have a 8 hour job, but if the job is 9 hours or better then it's extreme. But this is without any other major responsibilities - like family. I did know a couple people online that had 12 hour jobs but still pushed 4-plus hours in-game. Gawd, that's sick. I always have to have -at least- 6 hours of sleep. If you work 12 hours on a shift, that leaves you only 2 hours AT BEST in-game, with everything in consideration. I stopped raiding because it was too grating. I think some people do TOO MUCH in-game. This is one of the reasons WOW is doing so well. People don't have time for downtime (like in everquest). I think more MMORPGs should have a -pause- feature. Something like feign death that monks and shadowknights and necros have. This way dungeons could still have wanderers and challenging things while still preserving the ability to /afk. A game shouldn't punish you if suddenly your kid needs your help or (in general) RL calls. It's common sense. Something else I want to say is that exercise is extremely good for the body. A lot of people actually sit at their computer for 6 hours or more at work. It's unhealthy. That they might come home and use a computer AT ALL is something that WILL shorten their life. This is the real world. A human body is really not made to sit more than 40 minutes. This is proven fact. Evolution (of the body) cannot adapt as rapidly as our world is changing. This means that our DNA still thinks we should be hunter/gatherers or farmers or on-the-move. So we don't have a choice. We have to adapt the technology to ourselves, if we want to be healthy as can be.
