If you picked a PvP server for Everquest because of the PvP aspect, you are playing the wrong game. This game has horribly implemented PvP, but not much worse than the PvE. You play on a PvP server because of the few and far between fun fights and the fact that you don't have to wait a month between doing end game content.
If you have the numbers and the skill, you get the content. None of this calendar bullshit you bluebies do.

Albane speaks the truth, and I've said the same months ago. People who play on this server "just for the pvp" are not only in the wrong ballpark, they are on the wrong planet. You may as well leave now and sign up for a counterstrike ladder or something.
If you dont like (love) EQ as a PvE game in general, you've come to the WRONG place.

If you play EQ for a PvE game you're in the wrong place because there's no content on this server.

Once rooted Calyx and nuked her 4 times till she died. Not 1 attempt to dispell. Clearly shes here for the PVE.

Unless you want to poopsock dragons or farm planes all night, you have nothing else to do now; not even legacy. All "hardcore pvpers" griefed off server.
Average player has no reason to log in -classic cashed, bring on kunark. r99 has been a humbling experience for so many.

EQ pvp is fun because it's not balanced or boxed in with modern notions that center around the individual class in isolation, and the entire gameplay mechanic is so open ended that it's like comparing win 3.1 to windows 7. Not very pretty, but still enough functionality that grandma could use it; enough power that you have more than one way to approach any problem; and it hasn't been dumbed down to the extent that the only buttons to press are the ones that some designer predicted a need for.
It's never about how much end game content there is on a pvp server, it's more about who controls it. The dead space between encounters isn't a bad thing, it allows time for revenge and trash talking to hype up to the next one. Content and game quality can suffer, but eq pvp playerbase has a proud heritage of being shit flinging monkeys who need something to destroy. If they aren't happy with how they can destroy each other, or if the balance tips, they will destroy the box. In terms of box health, letting two guilds abuse the same exploit is more favorable than tipping the all-important pvp balance of power with some reactionary bans. Someone needs to learn the factors at work here before a good box can be made. Fact of the matter is, there is no salvaging red99 at this point short of a repack and rerelease with adherence to lessons learned and staff that understand the unique influences that make a pvp server a success or a failure, and administrating at the right balance.
