dont know, first i heard of the quest was on the emulator wiki when looking for good newbie earrings, allakhazam has posts in 2001 indicating it had already been removed.

I'll explain it then. There was a temporary event where Lesser Faydark was corrupted. Some undead and frightlings (imp/scareling model) spawned during this "event." The sky was also red / rained blood like in Plain of Fear.

The normal frightlings rarely dropped a skull that you could turn in for the earring. A named Frightling, Bloodboil would drop a wing that could be turned in for that cloak.

The event ran a few months or so in late velious / early Luclin era iirc. I'm sure someone could find exact dates, not gonna waste my time atm though considering I know the stuff isn't classic.

As far as quest goes that went in when Jboots stopped dropping right? I'd say if you make the AC either not spawn or not drop the ring of the ancients that problem is fixed. Unless of course you want to start with it in game. I can't remember when it was added / if AC spawned at release.

Pardon my lack of Shammy knowledge, but aren't their PvP dots pretty much only on the Poison line besides a couple?

It ran for fucking forever. Long enough that it felt really odd to go into that zone after and not see the red shit.

Also, if you're going to eventually remove Locket of Escape from the game, then at least enable city binding in Plane of Mischief so melees don't get fucked.

What about getting the kobolds in tox to give heretics faction? As it stands, it's nearly impossible to get enough heretic faction to get a key.

I don't know. Make a bug report or find a thread discussing it and bump with your information.
