Hobart has been asigned by SOE to work on EQmac since the latest mac OS is not compatible with it so... if NOTHING ELSE we (I) look forward to the day in the near future where we get some huge performance boosts.

heh, I may even finally work on getting GM crafting skills if there is mouse lag improvment.

And if he fixes a few of our 7 year old bugs while he is at it, great.
Fixing the perma pac bug on lvl 66+ mobs would be nice.

Tranquil Staff dropped maybe once a month on live. Here it is about one a day.

Wu's Trance sticks used to be rare as fuck. Probably also around one a month. Here there are several that drop each day.

Many drop rates suck ass on this server. I don't know what you expect on an emulated server. If you have proof that something is wrong post it in bugs, wait 6 months and it may get fixed.

Ok im gonna put this info here after this quote and in this tread. This is one of the "strat bullets" of someone on Al'kabor who recently had a lot of time on his hands and decided to camp the tranq. staff. Posting the relevant bullet only to illustrate why something is deeply wrong if every monk on p99has a tranq staff and they are actually being sold in the bazzar:

Quote:
4) I've been camping him for the last week on an average of 7 hours a day and get an average of 7 warlords a day to spawn during this time. I estimate as of now, I've killed about 50 warlords. Out of those 50, I've gotten 3 dwarven saps, 3 deepwater boots, and 44 jarcrap bracers.
And yes he had all of karnaors to himself, and was taking down all of the serveral PHers for the warlord.

Oh well, server is already flooded with them. A fix before red99 hits Kunark would be cool though [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

ultra-rare items arent that rare here.

It seems when you start a monk here, it starts with a tranquil staff.

We had one tranquil staff in legacy of steel a little into velious. There was 2 other known on the server then. Karnor castle was way more crowded than it is here.

I've sold like 30 fungi tunics and never got a staff off the king on live.

Solist's icy wand -- This should be as rare as a tranquil staff.

I'm sure theres a few other, mainly a few HS drops.

hmm can't edit this in so new post:

Let me elaborate. On Al'kabor there is a glitch/bug with the pacify line of spells. Basically, if you cast pacify twice in a row on mobs, they stay paccifed forever. So.. i've pacified the entire dungeon of howling stones and did nothing but run from one place holder to the next killing only the named and placeholders... for weeks at a time (would just AFK in the dungeon around the pacified mobs while not killing named).

Yeah its an awful bug, but we are the forgotten server so we get zero fixes (this might change real soon though thanks to Lion not working with the old EQ client), but that pacify bug has allowed me to thoroughly mega camp howling stones (and other dungeons) and see the drop rates over hundreds of named and placeholders.

I had over hmm hell if i know, 50 bloodpoints at one time, I lost count.. just destroyed them, trying for a steel hilted flint dagger.. same with the Truncheon, that NEVER dropped. Only saw one short sword of obeteration too in all that time.

Just saying.
gee a forgotten server with ridiculous bugs that are server specific has some items that are ultra rare drops
yeah i can see how you'd assume the drop rates from there are officially correct
