Now people. You guys bitching about taking away ooc chat is actually more annoying then The chats that are on ooc There has probably been 4 threads about this already at this point. I hope they never take it away.

If you don't like it leave. I'm tired of these QQers. This is an emulator server. Sometings are implemented and cannot be changed. All emu servers have global ooc. I think that how it stays

I rather hear spam than complainers all day [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The irony of the situation is that the people who support game wide OOC spam bitch the most about multiple threads spamming the forums. On the other hand the people who support single zone OOC to control spam do not mind an increase number of threads on the subject causing forum spam.

Make up your minds people!

I don't think anyone is a fan of spam. There are ways of remedying the spam situation without removing the serverwide ooc.

Setting a minimum level at 5 would likely alleviate most spamming issues.

I just turn off OOC until I actually need it for something.

Problem solved.

Whatever works for you, fine go ahead an use it.

My problem is, OOC is abused most of the time.
The people who actually use it for help, they sometimes can't get help because of the daily "pot" discussions, or the daily "politics" discussions.
Serverwide OOC is good for the people who actually need it, bad for the people who are able to spam because it's serverwide.

I leave it on, because I like to answer people's questions, I turn it off when the morons start spamming about the daily topics.

The only reason global ooc/auction is still on is because of the population difference from live versus our server now... and the fact that chat channels are not functioning properly.

I don't want people thinking it "won't go away", because it will eventually. That time cannot be determined by polling or arguing. It's a development decision that will be made.

There have been discussions that global chatting benefits this or that.. but honestly, all it does is give people the global ability to speak, which is non-classic. Since this is an emulated server and there are constant questions for installation/spells help, it has remained active.

There is a non-classic aspect that I would be willing to live with.. and that is the chat channels. If people could just /join general, it would alleviate some problems. The chat channels are broken, so that's not an option currently. Will they be fixed? Probably. Do I think people should "default" log on to global ooc/auction? No.
