I'm just spit-balling, but how about a compromise?

Make an additional zone-wide ooc channel, and rename the server-wide channel (General, maybe?) Perhaps also add a minimum level to that channel.

This SHOULD serve to fix several of the complaints. Those who wish to have a classic ooc channel without listening to server-wide spam can, and those who want or need a server-wide channel can use it. /auction can stay as is.

My personal preference would be to just make the channels as they were in classic, but I am willing to accept a compromise.

what other games? None that ever mattered in the history of MMOs I imagine. Although I did google it and I did get one result.. Grand Fantasia.. WHOA an anime based F2P MMO or are you referencing some MUD you may have played 15 years ago?

Level limits are nothing more than a band-aid fix and do nothing to stop the problem. People will just out level it and than what? DURRR RAISE THE LVL CAP! I have probably run into more idiots who are 35-40+ either in chat or groups than I ever do on my alts


If people want OOC disabled = turn it the fuck off. If people don't like OOC because others are acting retarded and its interfering with their ability to talk about cool shit like kittens and how awesome Avatar in 3D was while they were stoned than use /ignore until they fix chat channels. A level limit won't fix shit.

A level limit of 5 will stop the spammer from making a new character every 5 minutes and spamming the entire server.

And a level limit on using channels has been in a lot of mmos, actually. Especially private server emulators of said mmos. Sorry your google skills are so bad.
