This. But also, so many other great classic fantasy series could do the same. I'd watch a Dragonlance TV show, an Earthsea show, an Elf Quest show ... there's just so much great fantasy stuff, even before you get to the 90's (and then of course there's even more after).

i'm totally down for a Dragonlance show/movie

if we all pretend the Kenders don't actually exist.

(only read like 1.5 of the books, i assume that annonying lil shit would grow on me at some point though)

Totally. And (you may already know this, but) Ravensloft was made by the same couple that made Dragonlance (which is why Lord Soth moved from one to the other).

As ive gotten older its funny, raistlin really never cast many spells in any of the books. The only time raistlin really showed his spellcasting prowess was in the sewers of neriak against the other elder black robed mages (and that was a fantastic payoff).

Im indifferent to the idea as ive gotten older. Outside of LOTR movies I havent seen many positive examples from this genre. Rings of power was pretty bad except for sauron in season 2. Ill plod through season 3 im sure.

I do feel like I remember him feather falling or levitating at one point, but you're right.

As an author you can't have a story about ten (or something like that) main characters, where all but two (Raistlin and the "thief") are warriors ... and just have the wizard mowing everything down with spells constantly.

BTW, for those that aren't aware, there already was a Dragonlance movie. It was animated, and had great voice work (eg. Kiefer Sutherland played Raistlin) ... but it was animated poorly and failed commercially.

I'd love to see a departure from Forgotten Realms to one of the older IPs or at least a new focus than Michael Jackson space aliens vs Squid space aliens and Lord of Murder is plotting again. I know they keep rehashing it because it works, but it's a massive world.
