So it follows the same formula of killing a rat, then moving to the next zone to kill a bigger rat, then moving to the next zone and killing a bigger rat. Gonna be a pass for me

And then you and 50+ of your friends kill the rat-god and divvy up pieces of it's carcass.

I love killing rats.

I dislike killing soul gods from the 10th ring of eldon right outside the farmers fence.

The journey is always better than the destination. End game can't hope to compete with the feeling you get when you're grinding generic mobs on a fresh server with a group of guys you just met. That's all Pantheon has to get right.

This is pretty stupid. When an artist creates something it is never intended to be universally enjoyed by all living creatures. Catering to the whims of every potential subscriber is how you alienate the real fans of your work. That is what turns art into muted gray globs of shyte. Do you really think that the solution to solving the Coke v. Pepsi debate is to simply mix the two together? Everquest was great because it was fucking hard! They designed encounters with the literal intent that they could never be conquered. The masochists that enjoyed the pain of five hour corpse runs at midnight on a schoolnight are the ones still here. This is the same reason this project chooses to replicate that piece of art instead of reimagining it.

The willingness for people to cooperate is directly proportionate to the difficulty level of the task. When you allow someone to alter your vision to bring it in line with their own you are no longer making art. Guess you just plan to make money selling turd burgers to morons so you can buy someone else's art for your mansion wall?

I like a grand array of completely different art styles and many of them are fusions and alterations of other styles but why would you ever want to destroy something you didn't create just because it doesn't speak to you? If you don't like it just turn the page until you find something you do like.

(Did you really just read that crap? Oh man, and now you're going to quote it and reply like it wasn't a pile of bullshit..)

You win.

a zero-sum debate, when you mix everything at the soda fountain together you're at least acknowledging the problem that's why the only other MMO i respect is Eve Online and think everything else is "bullshit derivative bullshit"

they basically went "yeah we don't fucking know either" but they knew Elite, Traveller and Ultima Online were pretty dope so they made a sandbox and just let the idiots loose.

someone of us got lucky with the right combo and made a soda that was unique and the best thing we had tasted until then and some didn't understand the fucking assignment at all. but atleast someone attempted it and because they did game devs at GDC for the last like 20 years have always sucked eve's cock and given them awards while wishing they had the freedom to make a game like that

but the reality is mother fuckers got bills to pay and if a 3-yr old gets addicted to loot box mechanics oh well.

the actual problem is how you turn the artform of making a decent tasting suicide without drowning it out with too much dr.pepper

into the freestyle coke machine that is not only "good" but able to appeal to more people is the string theory of gaming and you probably need 11 dimensions to actually make it work.

With that machine you can still get a plain coke. Seems like the real problem with there alternate realities is that there isn't enough fodder in the one i choose to live in. Of course all of this will be solved in January when we get a fresh start. Plenty of lfg good times.
