Every sci fi movie between 1946 and startrek was about how the nuke and war was going to kill us all.

The very first, the VERY first science fiction ever written was by a woman and it was about reformation mankinds liberty.

The reason science fiction is like this is because it takes politics, and criticizes it. That's it, that's what sci fi is.
