I am over here running myself ragged on the keyboard when someone else is just /afk, /pet attack /cast1 /afk

When I feel it, its really powerful and fun, but when I am not feeling it, I would rather just solo.

With a well rounded group with everyone 100% engaged it can be a BLAST

Best times are in duo's or trios with people who ate actually at the keys. I did quite a bit if leveling on my Bard with a Paladin. Can get into a lot of fun dungeon crawling with that duo.

I’d prefer even heavy micromanagement of a bard to the mind numbing monotony of simply hitting backstab every few seconds on rogue

No offense to rogues, but melees in this game are far too basic in terms of how they play compared to (some) casters. I understand that there’s positioning and pulling and stuff which helps tho

But that’s one thing that WoW noticed and heavily improved on, their melees were just as complex as their casters with their own resource systems and wide range of abilities

I've always mained a bard in EQ. After playing one, i can't seem to stay interested in any other class past about lvl 40. Bard is just too much fun. So many different ways to play, solo or in groups. Also fun to duo/trio with random classes and figure out the best way to work together. And once you get used to having selo's speed, nothing compares. It makes running from zone to zone actually fun.

But yeah it does take pretty constant attention, and a poorly played bard is worthless.

Except for anything remotely difficult when your charm and mez are rendered useless.
