Just reiterating as this is a fact that seems to be becoming lost to time. On the day of Velious release, we (Rampage) decided not to use any Velious gear until we cleared everything. So despite looting things, we couldn't equip it until killing everything. (Well, you could "equip" it, just not use it on raids until we cleared it all.)

Something I think people forget about Kunark is the complete lack of Resistances on gear. Some fights like Zlandicar were pretty comical. But ultimately, it wasn't really much harder.

This is the problem with Everquest. Not the fact you're jerking off to pixels, although that's a separate problem.

No, the problem is that there are way too many pointless stats and items. You spent your life getting something pointless.
