I had a conversation with a local republican state rep where I live, and she was adament that the GOP intends to run Trump in 2024.

So, its at least gonna be another several years of dealing with the verbal diarrhea of Horza, Botten, et. al.

too much has been said, too much has been done, everyones mind is solidly made up, an election held today would poll exactly the same as it would in the 2024 general.

Republicans are shopping for someone who wants the job, and there are a few folks out there who might have the right idea, someone with a "Nationalist and Social Unity" message.

with regard to my conversation with the GOP state rep, she was totally playing politician with me. told me all the things she thought an ardent republican would want to hear, without admitting that the party stalled out in the Bush era and didn't keep up with the times, and the fleeting winds of social interests.

I figure by july of 2022, we'll have a VERY short-list of people who could put their name on the 2024 general ticket.

I agree that his odds are going to be fucking terrible, but Republicans have made their bed and now they need to sleep in it. Anyone who even tries to stand up to Trump will probably just end up getting ostracized from the party like Romney and Cheney.
