Looks like a lot of sane people came out of the wood work to comment on this thread. Very encouraging.

For a PVP server to be the way I always hope, there needs to be a lot of non psychopaths that just like EQ and aren't specifically on PVP just to murder other players.

It provides gear value as mentioned, a healthy solution to camp disputes, and lots of other things.

Best case scenario is that they announce red 2.0 will launch in 4 years when everyone is super sick of blue and green and they also state that a new blue or green won't be made for another 10 years, so anyone with half a brain is on red 2.0 making non PK guilds and crap and it can be the best eq pvp server since original rallos.

Just' dreaming.

hopefully they don't surprise launch the server overnight giving no one time to plan to play it.

TLDR the reason we won’t ever is because of the “tradesonred” and “new_guy”’s of the world. They troll anything and everything they can here with no intention to play etc only to be toxic on a forum

Whos trolling? Im one of the few over the years who keeps making constructive comments so we can try to have a server with a healthy pop. New guy and a few others are doing the same thing, gustoo etc... without the few people like that here and there the community would be an absolute cesspool, not taking into account people who just play and dont post here.

Besides people actually putting in work to report critical bugs, my criticism must be up there with things that helped the server stay healthy.

I was probably single-handedly responsible for the removal of xp loss in pvp because i pushed for it for a full year at launch being annoying on forums with it. Its probably the most significant change that happened to red over the years, in a positive sense. Im not saying this to throw myself some flowers but to drive the point that constructive criticism is important.

For people who were there during year1, Casey who im starting to see post again basically represents the bad part of the community, which became the dominant presence on the server after the devs let them take it over by not acting on xp loss in pvp. It drove out practically anyone that didnt plan ahead and joined a zerg during the first few months with people regularly bragging on the forums they were proud to make the population drop by stomping casuals with xp loss.

Nihilum is the other side of that coin, telling devs everything was fine because Nizzar needed to sell some dragon loot to pay the rent or some shit and cockblocking fear with sheer numbers. Devs are partly responsible for the state of toxicness of the server and its important that it is said, so these mistakes arent repeated.

I may be annoying, harsh, too much in my commentaries often ill admit but its always because i have the server's interest at heart because one day, i would sure like to play a populated Rallos-like server.

I really don’t care about any of that tbh, it’s still enjoyable to me because I love that era of EQ and I like the pvp dynamic. It’s just a fun game, there’s nothing else like it. I played on SZ back in the day.

I’ll agree with Tradesonred about the staff. I wish they gave af about red or more of af about P99 in general because it’s the best EQ Emu there is by a long shot.

Reality isn't decided by what you care about, trying to deny the truth because you don't like the reality of the situation is the literal definition of ignorance.
