the mission statement of UOO is something P99 could learn from

Our mission from the onset has been to create a version of Ultima Online which enhances every aspect of gameplay, creating a shard that we believe emulates how Ultima Online should have always been had it stayed the course.

It's not classic to stay time-locked for years, farming the same dozen or two mobs into infinity. The dreams of custom content beyond the line time seem pretty far-fetched now unless the devs are furiously working and giving literally no updates to the community they have built. The Project feels over.

Failed? Depends on what you mean by fail. Plummeting population, massive top heavy community, no leveling scene to speak of, all boss strategies 100% known, every quest figured out, every camp trivialized, any modicum of surprise gone... Well, that's not classic EQ. Rooted dragons and /Lists are not the problem, not keeping the server fresh has turned it into a rotting corpse. And to keep things fresh doesn't mean we need cats on the moon. Just my 2cc
