Substitution is an effective way of getting rid of undesirable habits.
Learning a musical instrument is massively time consuming, hours of practice everyday... might just kill the EQ itch. Until you think it would be fun to learn to play the Everquest loading music. Back to square one.

A wizards role in P99 era EQ is port utility at best. They’ll want you to get them all to sky and hate then wait around to TL everyone out whereever. You’ll be complained at for not evaccing soon enough; you’ll be complained at for evaccing too soon. You’ll be turned down for exp groups because they need anyone else. You’ll resort to quad kiting and hoping no one disputes your spawn. Once AA’s are added you’ll have way more enjoyment as a wizard.

I only play at work. Get paid to dick around in p1999 for 4-7 hours a day. Gets it out of my system and doesn’t take away my free time.

I login during my breaks at work. And then at night on the weekends.. No play times will ever allow raiding. And i've accepted that [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] I just like logging in and being online for a few hours a week and it always scratches the'ol itch!

OP, I feel your pain. Whenever I feel the urge to play again, I come to the forums and read Rants and Flames. Works great A+ highly recommend.

Well, if you don't get addicted, you can play for short periods of time not getting burnt out, and if you did that and never quit then you'd be like BIS right now level 60
so consider that next time you start getting addicted when you come back! its like speeding, sure we all agree its the fastest way to get somewhere, but: 1. you probubly will get stopped, and issued a ticket (aka you over addict and take a break to keep your life together) 2. even worse you crash and die (you quit playing the game out of burnout and life colapsing) 3. even worse than that, you crash, and take out a family in another car with you (you quit playing the game out of HARD CORE raiding burn out, you obtained guild banker status, you delete the guild bank, deletge your character then log off forever) basically the moral of the story is, this server aint going anywhere, take yer time and play responsibly and youll have everything you ever lusted for.

Write down, specifically, what you enjoy from playing this game. Write down specifically what you dislike, and the negative effects it will have on your life. If you can't really think of things you like, what's the reason to play.

you dont have to play obsessively to have fun in everquest
that said, im not sure how much fun you'll have as a wizard. soloing by quadding to 60 is pretty boring and your options at 60 arent that fun anyway. i vote if you come back, you either pick a really fun soloing/farming class, or you pick a super-desirable group class, so you can make the most of limited play time
