Ok, I had to weigh in here, only because a friend showed me this conversation and we had a laugh about it, then not a week later OP here goes on a virtue spree about the state of the server. Disclaimer that I'm not the person involved in the screenshots and wasn't even online at the time. Please feel free to enjoy OP's hypocrisy at his expense.

The timer doesn't start until the mob spawns, as anyone can claim to be "camping" a mob from anywhere as long as they arrive before it spawns.

The only time someone is truly "camping" is when they are actively waiting for a monster.
How do you determine activity? simple, first hit.
Anything less is idling.
Ergo, the person with the first hit is the one actively camping, meaning that the only timer that matters is the one immediately as the monster spawns.

We recently had a thread where i argued something similar; if waiting for a spawn and neither player killed the ph (nor did anything else covered by the 'hold a camp' rule) then the mob would be fte when it spawned, but I actually got ruled against by csr and it was determined whoever was sat there waiting for spawn longest would be considered to be holding the camp.
