I'll give an example. I personally do not have a ton of time to play, let alone sitting in EC trying to sell mediocre_loot_003 in EC. If I am trying to sell an item, I almost always sell it well below market price so that people will buy it quicker. For example, I often hunted in the paw while leveling up and camped Gnoll Hide Tome. I knew that if I was really patient, I could probably sell it for 2k or something like that. However, I sold it for 800pp because I didn't have the time to wait for someone willing to pay 2k for it. So the guy who bought it could have bought it for 800pp and then turned around and sold it for the 2k a few days later. They would have made over 100% profit on it.

I've done the same thing in RL. When I got a flatscreen TV, I put my old TV (which worked perfectly, it was just 10 years old) up on craig's list for $50. I probably could have gotten 3x that but I didn't want my old TV sitting in the corner of my apartment doing nothing but taking up space.

I probably sell myself short all the time, but I prefer selling item_X sooner rather than later.

There was a time manastone was down to 30k, then back up to 80k, that's CLEAR profit there for the people who were able to take advantage of it.

If anything I was poking fun at the silent minority of people who sacrifice real life for EQ. That honestly wasn't the point of my thread tho, the point was to ask if any why anyone would have over a million plat. It's not like you can sell it for real life money, it's not like you "need" a manastone/rubi bp etc to compete in raids/soloing. Why would you waste 100k on one item when you could re twink another character for about 20-30k and level him up? It's like this server has the black card club, people walking around flexing there E peens spending 100+ k on items that they don't need to compete and probably 90 percent of the server will ever see them wearing it. A perfect example is me cracking up at these people who sit at the front of the tunnel holding 2 mana stones. I just shake my head and basically see them holding 2 solid gold bars going "look at meeeeee, I like to flaunt my overpriced rare items, teee heee heee".

With all these so called "high rollers" and "ballers" throwing out bids of 100k on items that realistically aren't that great at all and only cost that because of there rarity. Why would someone blow away at least 2 weeks worth+ of real life just to give away all the plat they earned for 1 item such as a Thex Dagger "omfg 50 SV DISEASE!" I know I will get the same automated response "once people dinged 50 and got all there raid gear they had months of free time to farm cash". I guess all I am really trying to figure out by this is why people will literally let there life decay on Earth, just to spend a month farming cash to buy one E-cool item. I thought I had a bad obsession with this game but in comparison to these arm chair warriors throwing around 100k like its nothing, well I would be considered an extreme casual in comparison. May god have mercy on your wrists and legs in your old age....and your virginity.
