I chose a barb because of the size issue primarily. Otherwise I would have chosen Ogre for stun resist. If you solo at all it is a big deal, in my opinion.

Regen doesn't seem that great of an incentive to me because shamans are pretty good at getting their hp back anyways.

True. One of the most hilarious sights in classic EQ was the Sol B or Lguk zonelines with an afk or LD ogre sitting in the way while people are trying to zone away from a train.

People would be cursing at the guy to move, etc...

I decided on barbarian just to not have to deal with everybody hating me or the xp penalty. I never rolled up a shaman to be able to brag about my solo kills anyways.

Why are these threads always full of ZOMG SIX POINTS OF REGEN!!! Sixty hit points a minute, sitting. That's the troll/iksar racial ability.

There are three things to think about in a shaman: frontal stun, JBB and Barbarian Spiritist's Hammer. If you're going to choose based on appearance, you probably don't need advice on what looks cool. Decide if you want to solo Lodizal, how much you like the JBB and how much you like to melee.

I find myself wondering if the "only ogres can solo Lodi" thing is actually true... but only way I'd roll ogre is if I can find out how to hax the luclin ogre models in

frontal stun immunity is by far the most dominant factor in any shaman encounter short of being a buff bitch on raids. You guys have fucking alchemy and shrink spell, get a clue on the size thing.
