most guilds hit you with a dkp penatly anyway for posting here but some of these threads are worth it, and even if they do hit with dkp its not that big difference anyway 1 raid can make that back up.

The only people who actually think RNF impacts their EQ experiences are the ones who don't understand the importance of separation of church and state. Of course, I am speaking metaphorically here (this is to confuse the idiots who think RNF posting ban will improve their guild of elves). Here's the amazing truth. If they don't like RNF, they don't ahve to read it. Then, nothing that goes on in here will impact their precious little safespace brains that can't handle lively banter and avatar-jousting. I feel very strongly about this.

I can see a guild asking its members to not be perma-troll douchepickles, but requesting no activity at all in RnF is pretty silly. There are plenty of off topic posts that are perfectly benign. And ForumQuest wouldn't be classic without IMPOTENT RAGEEEEE from some folks.

While I know very little of the ongoings of guilds other than - and at times even including - my own, I have heard that some simply prefer to ride #aboveit.

I am still surprised at how angry people can get on the forums though, over quite inane things like discussions on gaming mechanics or what race is better than others etc etc. I suppose if someone is unable to process the forumquesting of others without getting emotionally unhinged, then it is best they stay out of RNF. Perhaps this is why some guilds make it a rule that their guild members stay out of RNF, just to be sure they have no one loses their shit and totally goes bonkers?

I think it's more about 2 things. #1 These guilds don't want their members making them look bad in RnF. #2 These guilds don't want their members divulging information they're not supposed to or potentially leading to issues where or when staff are involved.
Staff are humans too and they may lean towards a for favorable outcome for a guild that is clean and proper when representing themselves in forum quest. Just saying..

Guilds that have RnF censorship make up for it with the level of drama on their own forums. It basically ends up a wash.

I cannot fathom why someone would join a video game guild that dictates to its members what they are or aren't allowed to do outside game. How low must such folks' self esteem be?
I don't know whether the guild I'm in now (kittens at the present) has a no-RNF rule because I've never asked about their rules or checked their guild website assuming they have a site. I've gone on raids with 'em a few times....decent folks by and large. If they decide they don't like me and disband me there won't be any hard feelings although I don't see why they'd do so. In the past I've been in guilds with a no RNF rule, ignored said rule, and nobody ever cared. Danth
