I recently attended a lecture on hording, and am currently reading an article about the effects of long term unemployment on the sense of self.

I was surprised by how much each of these made me think of the p99. Probably just a symptom of my own obsession, rather than anything to do with the servers' population.

If you're that inebriated, how do find the computer to play?
Amateurs.

If you've grouped with me, chances are I was HUI (healing under influence). One of the best that I don't remember was waking up standing at the lava rings at 45. Later learned that I passed out in a nobles group so they grabbed a druid and evac'd me out. Decent folks if you ask me.

Generally speaking, playing EQ a little tipsy is fun! Helps break up some of the monotony of the grind.

THAT BEING SAID: I'd be careful of doing anything real stupid. I.E my former guildy who got drunk as fuck off of whiskey. While drunk, he was dicking around in EC, and decided to sell his Robe of the Oracle for 300 plat. So he does the trade, pretty much blacked out, and logs off. Next day he logs on.. and realized his Manna Robe was missing. It has the same graphic as Robe of the Oracle. He sold his Manna Robe for 300 plat.

While I enjoy playing a couple drinks deep, I feel like i'd do something stupid if I was hammered. Like porting someone to skyfire instead of EJ on my wizzy (which I've nearly done sober) and instantly dying to all the mobs waiting there.

Speaking of which, I ran into a very friendly druid very very late one evening while trying to get a port from WC to BB on my level 20ish rogue. All of his messages didn't make much sense so i figured he was a bit smashed, and then he confirmed that by telling me he was. He didn't accept my tip money, buffed me up, then instead of porting me to BB he ported me to DL and went afk/passed out. I waited a while for him to come back and for anyone to come by to help port me out but to no avail... I ended up sneak/hiding through the caves, running through DL dodging spiders, and then taking the boat to BB from FV once I got there. An exciting adventure!

I'm drunk, high, or both pretty much 90% of the time in EQ.

I got hammered one night and was in Overthere and passed out at my keyboard with auto run on. When I logged back on the next day, I apparently had died. My corpse was in some random tree that a bard helped me find. Don't remember any of it haha.

I used to play back on FV with a Vah Shir warrior named Paasht that would routinely get aggro and then go grab another beer. Our groups eventually broke up when he got too drunk and passed out at the keyboard.

We'd meet back up at our camp the next day and rez him so we could do it again. It was like this for months until one time he passed out drunk and just never came back.

Fun times.

One can surmise many different ways this poor fellows EQ adventures ended. Personally I can't help but think he passed out and died from alcohol poisoning on his KB.

That was pretty much our assumption too. He finally drank himself into a coma and died.
