cant really be put into words. wolves vs sheep isn't really good enough to describe the extremely early days in highpass hold, south karana, oasis, etc. pks having to make friends with other outcast murderers, only to get stabbed in the back, or tricked into nuking someone solo in highpass while the other partner starts nuking you instead. The wolves didn't know they were wolves yet. Some wolves had no idea. Some wolves murdered people only to realize they werent really a murderer and had to live with it now. The lines of what a pk was pre-zerg pre-max level in the very early days were very blurry. once you killed someone you never knew how many people knew about it, you'd try to go about your business but the murder you committed could come up again and become a problem on a given adventure. if you rushed to max level, or joined a major zerg blue "raid" guild as soon as possible without exploring the game (like a lot of these so-called OG's on red99 did). you missed a lot of what 1999-2000 was about on Rallos zek. That was real PvP.

Later as relationships, reputation, and greed for pixels build the player races mean nothing and people find ways to segregate themselves into groups by common long term goals. Giving the server credit for having a mature player base or the game creators for creating a game with this amazing phenomenon is delusional and just you hyping up a game you enjoyed a long time ago.

pixel-frustration builds up, only the true neckbeards keep going at it, and they are hit hardest by it a wipe would be a good way to force them to let go what happened on orc hill 4 years ago

People complain about forum trolls warding off potential new players but seriously, take a step back, read this dudes posts, and be thankful you didn't have to waste your time throwing a fungi on a level 12 to do it yourself.

I'm hoping Draul is just trolling because that quote above is just ridiculous.
Bst doesn't happen on red because of low pop. When there is pop there is full blown trading just like on blue and people who spend all their time making deals. As it is there is a lot of gear rotting on alts / mules. No demand for anything except very rare items. Continually killing mobs uninterrupted to "hold" a camp on blue vs battling actual players for the right to own the camp please. Next thing he's going to post about the thrill of locking in a really great petitionquest lawyer and winning rights to kill a dragon in "norraths people's court" a twitch tv live event where players beg for staff favor to have a shot at killing a mob, slightly dramatised of course. This guy is why people that have ever played red just can't stomach blue. Seeing this guy and not being able to kill him on sight is truly gut wrenching.
