Its a social game and the population is really low. A new blue player can join one of several leveling guilds which all have a higher pop than the whole red server. Also the four year head start is much more difficult to overcome on a pvp server because people can wreck you, not just mobs. I think when they banned the red to blue to red plat transfers it really killed red. Blue players cant buy their way into decent gear.
Right, but there are people/guilds willing to help with starter gear, leveling, etc. We have had players transfer from blue earn full TOV gear/ST key/epic in less than 2 months of playing. How long would that take you to obtain on blue - 2 years?

A social game? Red is probably the most social form of EQ possible when you get yourself situated.

You constantly want to be talking to other people and making pals. Your friends are your biggest protection you have in PvP.

How many times you log into blue and theres just people soloing anything and everything? Half the people are afk in your group the entire time or fungi twinks soloing camps all by themselves.

Blue might have the population, but just because there is numbers doesn't mean its a more social experience.

I agree, Red99 is the most social of any servers I have ever played EQ on.
People are a lot more likely to group due to XP bonus and a chance of PVP brings groups/guilds closer together.

Everything Tune posted is spot-on. We have alts on alts that are better geared than top Blue players. Yes, it would be nice to have a higher pop on red, but it's still fun as it is, especially raiding. It's especially more challenging, fun, and gratifying raiding with 40 players as opposed to 100+.

If you want a set raid schedule, quicker access to pixels, and the ability to play EQ, make gains, and not lawyer quest and FTE yourself to death, come on over.

Yes, friend. I'm sure it would be tons of fun grinding my way through the levels, fending off deleveled NTOV twinks in my leather and rags, to finally reach level 56 and fight against players with full 100hp/15sv all items in every slot.

It not really like that metal and leveling is super quick with xp bonus. 56+ can be more challenging though because chances are you still have leather and rags because you leveled so quickly, but are niwmin range to fully geared 60s. One solution is to farm a bit andmgesr up at 55. Another is to raid and gear up at 55, before finishing your levels ^^

The only people that are in full 100hp/15sv all items are the ones that want the server to grow. Levels 1-50 can be done in a weeks time and most of the people that are twinked are the ones wanting the server to grow.

Another strategy is to go xp in places that are out of the way. Nobody is going to check big open zones for pvp/griefing. They are going to check crushbone, mm, solb, com. The xp bonuses are nice in those zones but the xp flies so fast on red anyway that it wont matter.

2 questions:

You can server transfer here?
Is it really ok to play both servers at the same time? Doesn't violate rules?
