Given the toxicity of the raid scene, there's one important decision to make in 2017

To bash a server when I'm promoting a server would be hypocritical... I think its great that there's enough interest in emulated EQ that dozens of servers can run and people can enjoy them.

Unfortunately the grocer is your biggest reason people here know about p2002, and for many after what happened here with the staff getting doxxed and stuff it's hard to see the server in a positive light (for me at least).

Will TAKP/P02 put up a vanilla/Kunark era pvp server do you think?

I like that you're promoting red. I think red server is actually better in some ways than blue. However, I don't think its fair to come to the conclusion that P02 is a bad server because there is a player on that server you don't like. That would also be hypocritical. Are you saying that there is not one single person on p99 that you dislike because if there is then you shouldn't be promoting that server either then.

For me it's a cocktail of reasons. Mainly I never liked boxing on live, thought it watered down the spriit of EQ (co-operation with strangers, grouping, making friends, etc)...to play on a boxing server would take a lot for me to enjoy. Maybe a high pop server could do it.

After that it's little things, yeah I get that it's just 1 player, but first impressions count. Plus hasn't there been some in-fighting between the staff of p02 and TAKP? There was a big thread in off topic here a while back...might have been just players not staff, I wasn't really motivated to read through it all.

For me the P99 banner is a hallmark of quality, so to play on a server without all the raid lawyering is appealing - red just needs more players and some TLC [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I will. The server is actually nice. As I stated, GMs are always around and very helpful, the community is hospitable, and the server all around is very much like p99 (except that it goes up to PoP era with AAs and other great features). Also, the entire time I've been there, I haven't heard from anyone bashing on anyone or anything including people saying things such as, "By all means play p2002 if you enjoy psychos like greengrocer and copypasted peq content".

Some of the replies people are putting here are interesting, as if they tried red and saw fully ST geared deleveled monks coming to YOUR leveling zone to kill YOU. Put the pipe down you guys lol

blue players are great at taunting, its unfortunate their defensive skills are not up to par

when TMO proclaimed they would take over the server, they couldn't even field 1 respectable pvp group

of course it was impossible for TMO to actually learn pvp, as they believed they knew everything about EQ from blue, pumice being a waste of bag slots and all that

just a friendly fyi vulak has been up more then 2 months on red and has probably been killed less then 5 times total since velious launched

a decent guild could come to red and power everyone to 60 in 2 weeks or less and enjoy uncontested raiding with no bullshit and whining

If there's no competition there's no point. All the pixels in the world wont make the server enjoyable if theres no population.

...and therein lies the purpose of the thread. Embrace the idea of a fresh start on the other P99 server. You can still send messages to each other (encouraging friends to come too etc) across servers <3
