I would never have enough play time to get invested in a month long server. I would join in and barely be out of cloth before my character was deleted. I would never get an epic. If you dumb down PvE to the point where everyone can be geared in 24 hours playtime then there is no longer a reason for people to be doing PvE and therefor PvP is impossible to create.

It is the kind of server where if I had a bad corpse run I would probably just stop logging in until next time.

The application of a server where the idea is you put in 0 work and just have fun isn't possible.

I really like full loot, but I think too many people would be scared of the possibility "losing everything" and never even roll a character. Our pop would be as low as it is now (like 20 people on during my play hours)
Consider this: full loot fosters a mentality of caring less about pixels and more about PvP. Items will change hands and you stop worrying about it.

yeah, and if loot is easier to get (no placeholders, no variance) I think this could reduce pixel lust overall and increase fun. Having some decent gear from vendors would be cool too, so you aren't just naked if you lose everything.

If it attracts enough of a crowd everyone will be there - usual shit though, boxers/hackers/etc?

I agree that most people quit after obtaining their gear and dont pvp end game... but... im not exactly sure "grinding" for gear and levels solved the problem.

Like take you for example, you havent loged in, in how many years? and the server is the stellar opposite of the say, month long reset start at 60 server, perhaps you actually WOULD log in with this rule set and dont even know it.

Why did you quit playing on red99 in the first place?
Velious.

I don't like EQ after Kunark. Kunark is a good balance of no drop raid gear vs gear you can camp solo or in small groups. Gear gap with Velious is too big and I didn't have interest in starting from scratch on replacing every piece of gear from raiding. It also spreads the game out too much unless you have 500+ population and raiding requires too many people.

If any of these versions people come up with were the original game no one would be here playing an emulated version of it 17 years later. There is a reason Project 1999 is the most populated server. No one is interested in these failed basement dwellers version of a RPG.
