I don't think Rogean and friends releasing the code would be the best move. That will lead to a situation where we have lots of servers that are "P1999 but with...!" Thus, the very limited classic EQ Emu playerbase would be too divided. And though blue is a bit crowded, there are few enough people here on red as is.

A reset, knowing everything our devs know now and having all of the coding in place they've already done, would be wise, I think. It would essentially be a better version of what we've already had.

But these are just my hopes and dreams (I welcome jokes about the pathetic state of my life and genitals). I'm sure our staff are making plans to do something.
I have to read more than one paragraph? What am i, stupid?

It would be cool for developers, but it's not their obligation.

And yes, it would result in dozens of shitlords releasing their own LOLLYZEK 69 WARZ hackboxes w/ awful custom features jimmy-rigged in. Let's not kid ourselves.

If I was serious about wanting to use P99 code, I'd approach Rogean with money and a willingness to agree to his terms (not mine). And I'd probably email him privately instead of trying to pressure him with a public forum demand.

No apologies bro.

Ultra-rare drops kept people playing instead of flooding the server with BIS gear one month after Kunark was released. I did what was best for a box with ~300 players instead of 2000.

No one is trying to pressure Rogean, which is impossible because the guy doesn't care. I just opened the thread to see if anyone knew if the guy had any plans or what his thoughts were. If the answer is he doesn't plan on doing anything that is acceptable, and what I think most people expect.

Should run R99 by the valuations team first tax man...don't want to overpay.

But I'll match the $200usd above for a teams server, which is like a million Canadian.
