its easy enough to parse raids and see who isn't contributing

You must be speaking as a warmbody yourself because the kind of contributions that really matter and aren't a given don't really have a metric.

There's no easily available metric for comparing Colgate and Gongshow to Chiggen. There's no metric for a lot of very crucial differences in players. This is why in a good guild with loot council, each individual's contribution is weighed appropriately. Pure DKP systems fail to give the playmakers the credit they deserve and just add to the entitlement of warmbodies.

I would never seriously raid under a pure DKP system - it's a race to the bottom. However, I can see how they are sometimes necessary for a ragtag band of scrubs. Enjoy it.

Tempests decision to turn to dkp has taken away all my motivation to raid. What this does is reward people merely for showing up, and does not encourage taking a proactive part in the raid, encourages sandbagging ect. Yall wont see me for awhile.
