I don't know for tells , but IP exemptions... Weeks ?
It's maybe because you don't follow how to correctly. I did it twice so far , last year and this year and it took 48-72h max. Which is pretty reasonable for a free service.

this isn't a rant about the staff, it's a rant about a poorly implemented feature that wasn't properly tested and makes this game even more difficult for new players to get into.

rather, its assumed that he read the complaints. he didn't acknowledge them and left the thread after the negative feedback rolled in a few months ago.

What is the story with this Greengrocer guy, and how he got this restriction put in place?

Quote:
It all started when an enterprising young halfling entered norrath's food service industry. Working out of the Eastern Commonlands, the grocer channeled his creative energies to forge a premiere catering firm Nomsanto Industries, specializing in rare meats and derivative products. Rumors of shady dealings and questionable sourcing of select ingredients swirled behind the scenes, but did not impede his rise to fame. He enjoyed unparalleled popularity both in The world of Norrath as well as on his marketing platform of choice: Elfsim Forums. And he delighted in it. Encourages by his success, the grocer launched other ventures: a pants business and a simulation game based on his catering business. Things were going well for the grocer. He applied to the great Elfsim courts for a seat at the bench and was welcomed to their council as Guide Morgan, where he continued the tradition of mischief and merrymaking that had propelled him to the rank of Elfsim celebrity. Then, something happened. No one knows for sure all the details as the truth lies at the heart of an impregnable mountain of tinfoil and bergers. The grocer was dismissed. And then, he snapped. He waged war on the highest powers of Norath and lambasted the community who had loved him with wild shitstorms unlike any seen before or since. His fall from glory was swift and sudden, but his fury could not be quelled. The battle spilled beyond Elfsim and ultimately fizzled as our dear leaders enacted reforms. The grocer's legacy is still with us, though sadly not in the form of fine meats or legwear. The delayed new user authentication process and the bizarre user profile visitor names that lead to its implementation are all that remains.
