Exactly. There is a reason it was called a crown of retirement in Kunark - that was usually the last piece of gear you needed, after that why even bother showing up? You'd be better off fake retiring and app'ing back to the guild anon as your alt.

this wasn't a big thing in classic nor kunark, even less so during velious on eqlive

when expansion cycles became faster & expansions had less content, every serious raider would have at least 2 alts camped outside the raid instance

p1999 very 2008ish in that aspect
