7K to spend on a paladin to make a big impact, what should I buy?

Both sides of the arguments are valid. But given his budget I would advise the jboots AFTER the prices have come down when the velious haste items come out. You'll likely get the sky haste belt not long after blues get tough to solo anyways.

Like it or not your dps is going to sucks before and after haste.

kaev brought up a good point that there are many outdoor dungeons on your route to 60. City of Mist and KC will be your bread and butter post 40+. Having jboots is the best investment not just for the speed of it, but for an instant click to reset GCD.

Stun -> Jboots -> Flash of Light. Your enchanter/cleric will never experience pain.

EDIT: However, I agree with Pint. Jboots is the best investment you can make. Or you can be like me and camp that shit in SRo, experience a whole side of P99 that sucks ass where you're competing with 5000 poopsocking assholes that don't care about you or if you're new to the server! FTE, baby! Ambit, you suck.

I think jBoots is a good idea, but only if you do the quest yourself. Would buying some resist gear be a viable option?

get jboots, jboots will save ur arse more often then a haste item (coz lets face it paladins dont solo ).

also dont get fbss wait till schw become so common that they are 3-4k in addition it frees up ur belt slot for a nice belt

soloed mine to 60 even before they launched red server .
