Since it hasn't been said I'm going to throw ranger/shm out there. I really liked it.
Shaman/ranger is absolutely a blast, at the high end with Torpor. Leveling up I'm not sure shaman healing can keep up. I duo'd a shaman/ranger on Live but Shamans are so much better balanced there than they were in classic.

If you go cazic sham, try and get fear undead clickie. Pairs great with snare class leveling up, 2.0 cast time noice

That's true but I think root rot is a much more viable option with velious coming out. Ranger ranged still won't be what it was in pop but it's still better than kunark

Ranger shaman duo was great and a lot of fun. I did it until 52 when my sham friend quit p99. Sadface irl.

Druid Enchanter is a great duo! In combat the only things ench lack are snares and heals, both of which the druid has. You can easily replace the cleric CH on pet w/ just mezzing it to memblur and letting out of combat regen 5% a tick to heal your pet if you want to keep it.

So much utility between the two classes, you should be powerful and both classes are fun to play.

Big incentive:
If you show up to a camp and its taken, port to another!

My vote is shaman/enchanter for late-game pve and/or pvp

Druid and any dps class. Druids spamming flame lick and with snare can kite a mob holding agro. Works great in outside zones. Those agro spells take no mana so with a melee you can go with out mana breaks.

Not every melee finds it fun to spend their playtime chasing mobs around, IME not many do. For me, EQ is a social game and constantly micromanaging my character's position flat-out prevents socializing whether I'm chasing or being chased. I invariably leave groups that decide to employ agro-kiting or fear-kiting as their primary kill tactic. But hey, if it floats your boat go for it, it's not like it disrupts anybody else's game.
