read the lore on the world and you'll understand the races - which i think are unique and put together quite well. also you're confusing vikings with arthurians.

Oh shit - you're right, my bad. That changes my mind drastically, however, I'm still not a fan of ass-wings. They couldn't just put them on their backs ?

I retract my statement, though. I went to the actual website and the races/lore do seem super interesting for all 3 realms. Pretty hyped.

The race that cuts off their right arm looks badass.

The game looks good in its own way, and will have its niche for sure.
The problem is it has no PvE. While I have never been a fan of Everquests system which makes undergeared players insignificant, I do like dungeons, questing and gearing. CU intends to have no real PvE market.
They have mentioned the depths, but it wont have any real impact. In essence, if you like exploration, encounters, and loot.. this game wont fill that need.

the lack of PvE has me concerned. While DAoC's PvE wasn't especially stellar by any MMO's standards at the time, it had its uses for crafting and/or leveling in a relaxed manner when you just had a few hours to kill and didn't want to get involved in grouping with others. Darkness Falls comes immediately to mind as a PvE / PvP success story, as does the idea of getting more exp / loot in doing PvE hunting in the Frontier, adding to your risk of doing so due to PvP happening at the drop of a hat.

It WAS a fun part of the game. Shelving it entirely... It makes me curious how well it will do with the direction it takes.

I completely agree. I'm highly skeptical of it doing well without some sort of pve. I will probably try it out for a little anyways but as I do with any new mmorpg, without high hopes.
