It isn't necessarily black and white. Some people like using the words because the words are the last bastion of swearing. They are a taboo and people are attracted to them for that very reason. First of all we are all too old to be deriving childish glee from profanity. I too grew up using the "f" word as a generic, feminizing insult, and still feel that there is no substitute that has the same decisive sound. It really did roll off the tongue didn't it? Too bad for us.

I was lucky to grow up in a place where the taboo against the "n" word held strong. And over time I saw that the "f" word also encapsulated a history of violence and suffering. The trade off just wasn't worth it, the fleeting pleasure of saying "f" versus the knowledge that I was part of something deep and old that ruined countless lives. And not just the lives of gay people. You play everquest. Are you really going to tell me that you've not suffered by that word too?

Chances are you aren't reading this, chances are you don't care. Chances are you will let yourself off the hook with some garbage about how it's all just a joke or some private rebellion against political correctness. Which is why it's good that a majority of people have made this decision for you. It is my understanding that the owners of this server are among that majority.

So basically, reconsider, or go fuck yourself, or whatever. But if I can get you banned, I will. Not because I think that it will make the world a better place, but because it will improve my chances of hunting goblins without having to think about your rotten brain.
