Most people, my guys included at times are quick to utter ... OMG he's doing this for them, and wouldn't do that for us. It really pisses me off, both sides get disciplined evenly and under the same scrutiny. It is human nature to feel targeted.

These kind of silly assumptions are ridiculous and bring a level of frustration to the GM job that makes me wonder why they put up with it at all. Getting accused of favoritism when you're doing something for free to the best of your ability....

Nah. It's not an illusion. The GMs really do seem to hate you and want you off the box. Anyone can see that. You should consider just quitting. If you were going to succeed, it would have happened by now.
