Cool

I was on Vallon Zek and there was no such thing but i played much more when kunark came out so i didn't experience item loot a lot.
I do remember seeing a lot of naked necromancers when item loot was still in though haha. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Obviously, without item loot, inspecting didn't matter.

Actually yes I would. Looking is different to inspecting. Ripping my shoes off to check all the 'stats' like the inside sole, how well the laces tie etc is rude!

I never got mad about being inspected, but it's nice when people are social.

It always felt to me like a foreigner that walks up to you and invades your personal space without touching you. Technically they're not doing anything wrong. They're just standing as close as they do in their culture, but I don't like it all that well.

It doesn't make me mad, but there's a better way, a more polite way.

I really think inspecting people, particularly people of your own class, lets you figure out what you need to buy to be sort of efficient. I know there is Magelo, but most of the people on there are level 55 or higher so you are not going to buy that stuff at level 10. [You must be logged in to view images. I have just stumbled upon project 1999, and I am very interested in starting to play!

Was reminiscing , and do people still ask each other "may I inspect" ?

Random question, this 1999 experience looks like so much fun though ! I gotta make a druid main again to farm giants so I can make a twink monk [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
I've brought this up a few times recently. I thought I'd remembered it but I also thought it was a little silly. Regardless, I distinctly remember EVERYONE doing it on my server - inspecting someone without asking could put you on the social blacklist for forever if you did it to the wrong person, and if someone said no, you just didn't do it.

Yeah on Torvo it was a no no in the beginning to inspect. I think on here people have changed. But in the tunnel a lot of people are afk so hard to know if they might care or gone having dinner lol. I mean it sure does not hurt to ask! But sort of a pain to do a tell to do it. I would not just target someone and ask. Everyone knows your doing it and if the person gets pissed wow then you look like a goat. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
