It's a pvp server - there will always be people who play just to twink up and hunt n00bs.

One of the coolest dynamics in a pvp environment like this is actually created by these twinks. There is nothing more awesome than fighting some uber twink in unrest, hanging on for dear life with your group members, when out of no where someone even more twinked out shows up and starts defending your group.

Community is so important here. The next time you see some nublets being harassed in ZoneX, send them a tell and let'em know that backup is on the way. They'll be thrilled, and if they are true PvP'ers, it'll keep them coming back for more.

tl;dr, save the noobs when they're getting pwned.

p.s. we have loot and scoot to avoid actual 'grief' these days. make sure to let new players they can safely GTFO if they get ganked!
Well put! Pras the staff. Thank you for all your hard work!

Disagree. There have been tons of people here who have offered to volunteer and assist with the project with no response. How many qualified devs have applied only to not get a response, despite velious taking years and years? Is it because they were unqualified? They never even got a response or interview. It would probably be easier to get a six figure paying job with google than a response from rogean to a dev application. The same goes with staff. This stuff isn't rocket science and it's insulting when people paint it as such. With the proper tools I could probably destroy the petition forum within a week. I know because I did so on live. Now I'm not foolish enough to think based on my rep I would get this chance, but I know from prior staff comments that there are hundreds of apps out there. If there aren't enough staff then start interviewing from the hundreds of apps. Do what Sony did and have an apprentice guide program. Get them working on the boring basic petitions, are classifying them etc., the way they did during the petition era on live. Get guides who can monitor ooc, the forums, /hide me and watch trains, etc. There's tons of people wanting to help if only you guys would let them.

I could probably clear the petition forum in a week too, if I didn't do anything else.

Each poofed item reimbursement takes anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on how many items are involved. There's no way to speed this up because of the steps involved in verifying that the item poofed.

In regards to developers, Rogean and Nilbog are extremely careful about who they bring on for actual code work - there are a lot of people who would be thrilled to get their hands on the P99 source code. Content work is just as desired, and needs to be treated in a similar fashion as the source. There are other development positions that don't have access to that kind of information that have been filled with qualified personnel, but regardless of position there is always that risk of shenanigans.

As for the CSR side of things, I can comment more thoroughly since it's more my department than the dev work, which is primarily Rogean/Nilbog. Recently we've been working on an 'apprentice guide' program which should be completed soon. We are already starting to interview people for this position. It's an extremely limited Guide position that has it's access basically cut in half, and no front-end/forum access. Essentially they are eyes and ears. We're also looking to add more full on Guide's that will likely be recruited directly from the apprentice guide program.

We're fully aware that we're short staffed right now, and we understand what kinds of problems that causes. However, the answer isn't just to frantically add staff without closely scrutinizing new staff members. Whenever we bring someone new onto the staff they get watched like hawks by myself and Sirken to ensure they're doing what they are supposed to be doing. Our Guide position has a lot of power compared to what Guides had on live, and it's a huge priority to make sure that doesn't get abused. We just have to be careful.

All of that being said, we are adding new guides very soon. I've already spoken with Sirken and we've both made it a priority to do interviews this weekend, so if you have a guide application, or are interested in being a guide, make sure your thread is up to date and bumped to the front page. We are for sure getting 1 dedicated red guide.

Sure, but I had already been doing CSR work since 8 o'clock this morning when i started making those posts. Mind you this is my day off from work and I spent all of it doing petitions. I think I earned my forumquest time for today.

Ah so I guess I was right when I thought my petition about an item being ninjaed was shot down due to the time necessary to actually look into it.

Very poor show. 5 people willing to confirm it happened, ninja lost his guild over it and doesn't even play the char anymore due to getting taken the shit on after this incident, but staff couldn't be bothered to spend time on it.

CSR consistency is downright bad, sometimes service is awesome, other times its just plain terrible.

there are like 70 players on this server during the day. most are just farming plat and the rest are twinks floating around killing new players. server community is bad and people aren't helping make it better. not saying its GMS faults. its simply the people who play here are selfish

Should the day players be power leveling you and making life as easy as possible for you?

Nah, they should be getting jobs.

Maybe you can say likewise to the people crying about daytime players? I wouldn't know. I don't play in the day.
